to Battlers Green Veterinary Centre!
Things have moved and changed very quickly and its a distressing time for all. Veterinary clinics around the country are for the most part still open but strictly for urgent care or emergencies ONLY. We too are operating in this regard. Our door will be locked moving forward to safe guard the health of staff. Your animal’s health is still our priority. Please call our usual number on 01923 750 680 if you feel your animal needs to be seen. We will then triage the symptoms and advise on appropriate care whether an appointment or being able to give treatment yourself at home. Our phone line will be accessible 9am till 6.30pm as usual and thereafter we will use our out-of-hours provider Village Vet in St Albans as has been the case already.
If your animal is on a pet health plan please call and give us notice in order to prepare flea and worming treatments. The more notice the better please. I would suggest calling up today or this week ideally if you will need these in the next 1-2 months. Routine consultations unfortunately are suspended, as is the case for all veterinary surgeries. If you are not on a health plan please also call to order your flea and worming treatment, payment can then be made over the phone. This applies to any food or medication orders too.
Please be assured veterinary services will be in place during this time of lock-down. I have been in discussion with our neighbouring practices to ensure if we are not available, that they are, and you can be seen if needed, We will advise when you call up regarding this. Again I re-iterate this will only be for urgent case.
Jon and the Team
We would like to emphasize and convey that there is nothing researchers and scientists have found to suggest that our pets either carry nor can spread the COVID-19 virus to people. Please continue with vigilant hand-washing as a general health/containment practice. As the updated ongoing situation becomes clear to us we will keep you updated whether it be restricted consulting and opening hours or examination protocol. We wish you and your family good health with the upcoming events
– Regards Jon and the Team
Our aim is to do things differently. We are an Independent Veterinary Clinic – and proudly so!
Battlers Green Veterinary Centre was opened by Dr Jonathan Rubin in July 2019. Coming to the vets, just like a trip to the doctors or dentist, is always accompanied by a certain amount of trepidation, we want the experience to be less stressful for you and your pet and that you leave informed, satisfied and confident that a treatment plan has been made for your very precious pet.
We treat small animals and exotics and our consultations are Monday to Saturday by appointment.
Mondays to Friday: 9am – 6.30pm
Saturday : 9am – 3pm (Appointments 9am-12pm)
Our premises were designed, and purpose built to be a Veterinary Clinic and not a simply renovated property. There are separate dog and cat waiting areas, separate dog and cat hospital wards as well as a sterile and a non-sterile theatre.
We have digital full body and dental x-ray suites. A full in-house laboratory including biochemistry profiles, haematology and urinalysis. Our equipment is all top of the range and brand new.
Our theatre tables are heated to prevent heat loss during procedures – a common complication of anaesthetic.
